Twiki, the robot from Message From Space, the other robot from the Message From Space tv show, R2D2, the cute little robot from Heartbeeps, Vincent, Cylons, R5D4, 7-Zark-7, Woger the Wobot...

As an aside- why aren't their any robots in Star Trek? Other than that android and cyborgs, I can't really think of any robots in Star Trek.

I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

        This is a tough list.

If piloted robot counted, I would choose VF-1 Valkyrie. (Robotech)

        10) R4-P17 -Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
        9) DRK-1 probe droid -Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace
        8) IG-88 -The Empire Strikes Back
        7) R5-D4 -Star Wars
        6) FX-7 medical assistant droid -The Empire Strikes Back
        5) C3-PO -Star Wars
        4) RA-7 protocol droid -Star Wars
        3) EV-9D9 -Return of the Jedi
        2) Viper probe droid -The Empire Strikes Back
        1) R2-D2 -Star Wars

        Runners up:

        R2-Q5 -Return of the Jedi
        Power Droid -Star Wars
        Mouse Droid -Star Wars
        2-1B -The Empire Strikes Back

That robot from the Rob Zombie Dragula music video. (whatever movie it's from)

        Gold Cylon Centurion -Battlestar Galactica

Nomad from the episode: "The Changeling" thought that Kirk was it's creator,
and the episode: "Requiem for Methuselah" a robot called M-4 that retrieved an antidote called ryetalyn to cure a plague.

I think as far as robots that might have been it, I would consider episodes like "I Mudd" more Androids than Robots,
and Andrea and Ruk too, but you could argue either way.

I'll list one of my local favorites, Bob Wilkins as Captain Cosmic with his faithful robot sidekick, 2T2...

I love watching it after school...lots of great shows were featured...Star Blazers, Ultraman, Space Giants, etc...loved it...those were the days...

                        Captain Cosmic...

                        The great late Bob Wilkins...

I'm very old school because I guess I have to apply the rank according to how the magic hit me as a kid. I'm an old kid...

                              1) B-9 Robot. This will always be my favorite robot. No amount of technical wizardry can (for me) replace the charm of this character. He started out intimidating and dangerous, only to become a fellow comrade with a minimum of transition. I like the old school values of a big speaker light to articulate the verbal queues, as well as the treads and internal devices that come out for soil samples, etc. There's so much gadgetry spinning and blinking, it makes for a fun piece to look at.

                              2) C3P0 - How amazing it was to see this character come to life the first time I saw Star Wars. Simplistic in design, yet infinitely fascinating to watch. For me, C3P0 is the epitome of what defines a humanoid. Robotic in pose and motions, yet seemingly human all at the same time. I credit Anthony Daniels for the magic found here.

                              3) Cylon Warrior - While borrowing heavily from Star Wars, I found these characters fascinating with the nonstop probing laser eye and electronic vocals. One of the few robots to have an iconic set of sound effects one could instantly recognize.

                              4) R2D2 - What is there to say? THE robot that managed to bring character and charm to a series of bleeps. Like the B-9, he had his own set of internal gadgets that illustrated his internal mechanisms along with his own set of treads. But of course much more compact and lovable in a different scale.

                              5) Robby the Robot - Clearly the father of the B-9 robot but with a little less charm and a little more motivation for deceit. A fascinating design but lacking in agility and mobility.
