    Clash of the Titans

    Loved the movie...
Seen it a million times-- including yesterday...

    A few observations......

When Persius put his helmet on (to make himself invisible) to capture Pegasus, his lasso remained VISIBLE (even though he was holding it).
But when Persius put his helmet on while riding Pegasus following the giant turkey buzzard, suddenly BOTH were invisible.

    And,
When Persius rides Pegasus, where does Persius put his legs ?
    It never shows that.
Remember, Pegasus has wings at his sides.

    Any more ?

Mike, you're coming off as a bit of a "Nostalgia God" to me in the past week...
a TIME BANDITS and a CLASH OF THE TITANS thread within a day of each other?

Those two movies were cornerstones of my development/entertainment at
      a very impressionable age.

I'm kinda preoccupied at the moment. But hopefully I'll think of a way to
contribute a memory or 2 to these threads...but after seeing you add this
one to the board, I just thought I'd give you a salute.

Remake is due out in 2010

I love this movie, even my kids loved it.
I always liked the Bubo Owl and even wanted one.
        I keep promising myself this.

Ray Harryhausen's effects are stunning, better than the effects
on King Kong. The Medusa gave me nightmares as a child...don't look into her eyes.

I'm not to sure about the remake idea.

Not much in the way of movie details, but here's a link.

I think a remake could be good, with technology the way it is now they could do wonders with that film.

Maybe Pegasus becomes invisable because it's a living thing and the rope doesn't because it's not? That's my guess. There's a new comic coming out that's fully endorsed by Harryhausen called "Wraith of the Titans". Should be good.

Perseus (<---correct spelling) bends his legs at a 45-degree angle underneath Pegasus' wings, hooking himself into the pit as it were. You can see this on both C0tT posters, both the Hildebrandt and the other, more movie-accurate, one. There may be a shot or two of it in the film too, which you might have missed. Let's all keep our eyes peeled next time and report back!

As to the magical appearing and disappeating lasso, the in-universe explanation would be that Perseus gains experience in using the inviso-power, and learns over time how to invisiblize (<---new word!) the rope. Yeah. The real explanation, of course, is: "It's only a movie."
