It appears that Tomorrowland is this summer's first dud..

I really hadn't planned on seeing this anyway, mainly because I hate George Clooney, but it's not getting very good reviews. Even the positive reviews aren't completely positive. Looks like a bad career move for Brad Bird. I wonder if end up regretting turning down the opportunity to direct the new Star Wars movie. But more importantly, Damon Lindelof is toxic. Ridley Scott claims he had a great script for Prometheus but the studio rammed Lindelof's treatment down his throat.
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

Lindelof needs to make himself "LOST".

    Brad Bird is highly overrated.

Well, we're going to see it tomorrow anyway. I think it looks like fun, and my kids can go see it with me, and I probably won't have to worry about covering their eyes at any point.

When this tanks, what on earth is Funko going to do with all those Tomorrowland ReAction Figures?

I told them to go for the Creepshow license, but did they listen to me?

Lindelof -a great idea man, the worst in execution. Never delivers. Only guy as spotty is his ol' chum JJ Abrams.

As for Ridley, I haven't heard that before. By all accounts during g development, he was the one who brought Lindelof on board.

I like George Clooney...but don't have a good feeling about this flick.

I was debating seeing this. I'm not a fan of Clooney but the two different trailers I saw seemed to be for two different movies. Kind of hard to tell what the movie is actually about.

No Fan of Clooney as well. It would take a court order to force me to see any of his Movies!

Took the family and a friend of my daughter's to see it. Far more message-y and gloomy than the trailers make it look. A good film that is ultimately optimistic, but takes through the wringer a bit, for a Disney flick.

I suspect there is quite bit on the cutting room floor. The direct connection to Tomorrowland in Disneyland is minimal, despite commercials and trailers showing scenes to the contrary.

Bummer. On the upside, I hear Inside Out is supposed to excellent.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

^Yeah, that looks GREAT. Saw a new trailer for that.

Hopefully, Brad Bird will now get to work on an Incredibles sequel.

EDITED TO ADD: I almost forgot! There is a scene in a sci-fi collectibles shop that is chock full of geek joy. Old (and newer) toys and games, movie props, etc. I was trying to eyeball everything, but I just couldn't.
I swear I saw a casting of the Creature's head from The Monster Squad, though!
