I plan to see this this weekend. I'm really surprised at all the positive buzz it is getting. I guess this movie is suppose to be a real game changer for the science fiction and action genres.

Saw it last night. It's awesome. Certainly one of the most spectacular and intense action movies of all time. No exaggeration. It's a total thrill ride from start to finish.
Overall, I still prefer The Road Warrior, but Fury Road is fantastic and I recommend it unreservedly.PUNY HUMANS! -

Mad Max: Fury Road is really good.
The look of it was incredible and huge, the film superb.
The story direction was a little different than I had anticipated, but it was awesome.
The intense Action, some of the best scenes ever created.
It raised a couple questions, but mainly I want to know if Tom is making at least two more Mad Max films.Comment

I saw it. It was good. But not as good as the hype it is receiving, which is considerable. I'm not sure how I feel about Tom Hardy. I actually sort of missed Mel.
If you want pure action, this film just does not stop. I think Thunderdome, with all its flaws, did a bit of a better job of making you sympathetic to the characters.
I would like to see this again in 3D.Comment

I saw Fury Road and I loved it. The good thing is that there were no expectations for Fury Road and the results were pretty amazing. It was not under constraints to be the next blockbuster for children, but it does bring up a serious point. Should filmmakers go for the R rating and make the film that fans were begging for since Road Warrior, OR should the film makers cut it down and go for the PG-13 rating. That way all the kiddies can go and see it 4-5 times, bringing in the big profits, the action figures, the fast food glasses, the dixie cups, the hot wheels, the birthday cakes, etc? Imagine Cutouts of Immortan Joe at your local target endcaps. If you make the big money, you gain enough momentum to make a sequel and keep upper management from having a heart attack. You have seen the Max reviews. it is as well reviewed as possible. Seeing how much money Pitch Perfect took in after lack luster reviews, it really depressed me. Mad Max Blown away by Pitch Perfect 2. Even with the clips shown, Pitch Perfect 2 looks like it pales compared to the original. An R rating totally holds back profits. I remember always disliking Thunderdome. So I watched Mad Max 1 - 3 before seeing Fury Road. You know, Thunderdome is not as bad as I remembered it, THe action is solid, but it is two movies. It has this overall - "Goonies" / Peter Pan sort of feel. Fury Road is it's own supercharged animal. The details of the next two proposed Max sequels have not been discussed, but there is no way the sequels could accomplish what was done in this simple joyride of a film. Hopefully they get the right mix, so everyone will be happy. The good thing is that there were no expectations for Fury Road and the results were pretty amazing. Any films that might follow will be under tighter control one way or the other.Last edited by GUYx1; May 18, '15, 12:39 PM.Cheers,

Saw this film yesterday. I walked out of the theater with my senses feeling over whelmed. When they say non stop action, they are not fooling.
There were also about 10 trailers before it started but no Batman V Superman, that was a disappointmentmego's befo ho'sComment

Best action movie of the year for me...I loved it...more than Avengers in fact (ducks).
Mel Gibson should be pleased with Tom Hardy, he was great as the new Max.
But the one who stole the show for me was the one-armed Furiosa (friggin ace name)...Charlize Theron was a badass, thumbs up...or in her case, thumb up, lol.
People here in the Bay Area seldom clap at the end of a movie, but they did here.
Can't wait to buy the BluRay...kick back and relax...turn on the big flatscreen...and blast that sucker with my home surround sound.sigpicComment
