What do you think is the worst change in SW Special Editions?

For me the worst change in the entire trilogy is a single line of altered dialog from Empire.

Right after his duel with Luke, as Vader is leaving Cloud City, he storms down a corridor and says "Bring my shuttle." It's such a small thing, but it's the angriest Vader ever sounds during the entire trilogy. It is obvious he is absolutely FURIOUS over losing Luke. It is short and to the point.

Lucas replaced the line with "Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival." and ruined the mood of the entire scene.

That scream Luke yells as he voluntarily drops in Empire. That makes absolutely no sense, and totally erases the resolve Luke had in that moment.

One worst change!?!

There are just so many unnecessary to down right cringe inducing changes it's impossible for me to narrow it down to just one. Jedi receiving the brunt of the most cringe worthy changes from the horrid Jedi Rocks to Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!" to Hayden Christensen's head digitally pasted over Sebastian Shaw. In SW Greedo shooting first instead of not shooting at all is infamously horrible. Not to mention the bizarre changes to color pallet and everything now has a pink tint. But the sheer amount of damage done to Jedi makes the special editions of them totally unwatchable to me.

even some of the added scenes don't work for me, I mean scenes originally deleted like when they are about to board their xwings and the captain ask Luke if he can really handle it and Biggs gives his little speech. just does not work in there for me. most of the other changes I don't mind too much, other than Greedo shooting first and maybe a few little tings here and there

Thankfully that's not in the set with the SE and original version DVDs. My vote goes to them adding Boba Fett to ANH.

Way too much CGI added for no other reason than to over populate some scenes. Apparently Lucas felt some street scenes in ANH looked too empty. To quote "Holy Moses - It's a desert!!"

SW, when in the cantina they replaced the wolfman for that chicken puppet,and then made greedo shoot first.

Greedo shoots first.....followed by the expanded Mos Eisley sequence.....both are unnecessary.

Jabba was a threatening presence, before the Special Edition reduced him to something you can easily step on. Hilarious, George, really...

The new singing secene in Jedi, is this called Jedi rocks? It sucks.

This is an easy one. THE worst change in any of the Star Wars SE's is changing the original Max Reebo song from Sy Snootles to the cockroach muppet in Jabba's Palace. Line changes, color tints, and who shot first are bad and unnecessary but the "updated" song is terrible and long. You cannot look away. You can not pretend it didn't just happen. It's in your face for what feels like forever. It's so glaringly out of place that of all the changes it's this one that looks like it stepped off the set of Phantom Menace and wandered into Return of The Jedi the most. It single handedly, retroactively, ruins what is actually the greatest 45 minutes in the original trilogy. There is no worse sequence in all of Star Wars.
