    Boba Fett Question ?

    Hey Guys,

What the hell did this guy ever do in the StarWars Movies to give him the tittle "Most feared Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy" ? Don't get me wrong,.. I'm a Big fan of the "look" of the character,.. But I think he is highly over rated. All he did was Transport Han Solo to Jabba,.. After Vader & The empire captured & put Han in the Carbinite. Then a Blind Solo Kicked his Arse in Jedi..., for this he's " The most Feared & Greatest Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy" ?

I used to think the same thing then I realized, it's what he didn't do is what makes him cool

He's basically Ringo of the Star Wars universe

... I just picked up the new Fett 3 pack..,.. & on the back of the package, they are still claiming He's the "Greatest". I think they give him the tittle,.. because of his Sales points. They should just start Marketing the character as the "Greatest Seller" of Bounty Hunter's in the Galaxy.

I think they screwed the Character over in Episode 3.
Thats when he "coulda, shoulda,.. but wasn't there".
After Mace Windu Chopped off his Daddy's Head,.. In part 2,.. It should Been Boba that Killed Mace Windu in part 3. Then the Tittle " Most feared Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy" Coulda Been something,.. he killed a Jedi.

To me,.. He's just a different costumed StormTrooper.

Thing is,we don't know what he did between Episode II & V to earn said title. By the way,I'm not counting that goofy scene with him in A New Hope.

With all respect the question doesn't make a whole lotta sense
as he was called "Most Dangerous" for stuff we didn't see him do
                    BEFORE we met him.

And, its too bad the scene in EMPIRE, on Vader's Star Destroyer, where Fett
pulls out his resume was cut from the movie because---see-THAT'S where
your question would have been, at the very least, addressed if not fully answered....

VADER: "What's this? You worked at a McJabba's on Ord Mantell for 7 months?
How does THAT enhance your credentials?"

FETT: "Um...well, er...I...I had to wrangle in this Bothan seperatist and
transport him to Mara Jade...and see, I let him order a JabbaRib sandwich
and then I knocked him out cold with a Big Hutt...a BigHutt---its like a Big Mac
---but it has Hutt meat in it..."

VADER: "Yes. Yes. Well just get that Falcon or you'll be back flippin' burgers."

FETT: "Well, see, I wasn't exactly working IN the kitchen..."

                    VADER: "GET out."
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

I went to wikipedia and edited something up for this thread...
all quoted stuff is from wikipedia...

In the original trilogy and Holiday Special appearance it seems that
Boba Fett's real "dangerous attribute" is not his physical prowess---its
actually his ability to think ahead, track prey and manipulate people
                              (and, obviously he's a high-level tech-head too---just lookit all his
cool gadgets and that rockin' spaceship he uses)...

"In The Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett befriends and aids Luke (& friends)...but
it is eventually revealed that he is in reality working for Darth Vader and the Empire"

In The Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett beats out the best bounty hunters in the galaxy by tracking the Millennium Falcon...

"He is the only hunter to deduce how the Falcon eluded the Empire by hiding on the hull
of a Star Destroyer. He then requests his ship to be placed in the Star Destroyer's
garbage, in order to be hidden in it when the warship jettisons the mass before
departing, anticipating that the Falcon will use the waste as cover when it detaches
from its hiding place. Fett's hunch is correct, and he tracks the ship and surmises that
Han Solo is likely headed for Cloud City on Bespin."

"In addition to the reward for Solo's capture from the Empire, Vader allows Boba Fett to
take Han Solo, frozen in carbonite, back to Jabba to receive an additional reward,
claiming two bounties on the same job. In later Expanded Universe material, it is
revealed that Fett charged Jabba a larger amount than the original bounty price. He was
able to do this by explaining that the frozen Solo was unique artwork created by Darth
                              Vader."

TWO BOUNTIES CLAIMED for one guy??? Crafty Fett---crafty!

In Return Of The Jedi---admittedly---Fett suffers a LAME DEATH...not fitting for
the characters' supposed "tough guy" rep---nor appropriate for his popularity with fans.

Looks like George Lucas actually considers Fett to have ESCAPED DEATH at the hands
of the SARLACC-- but, ALSO, can you believe this...jaded STAR WARS fans...Lucas had
RESTRAINT in editing the SPECIAL EDITION version of JEDI to show Fett's actual
                              escape...

"Lucas explains that he eventually decided against the new shot because at that point
in the movie, the main point of focus is the death of Jabba the Hutt, and he felt that
the 'resurrection' of Fett would draw away from that."

In the Young adult Boba Fett series Fett uses his techie skills to modify his
father's armor and ship at an early age---ready to take on the galaxy,
gaining "several minor bounties under his belt before the age of 13."

"Fett is one of the few beings in the galaxy to know the major secret of the Clone Wars:
that Count Dooku had built the clone army."

"Young Boba also gets the chance to face his father's killer, Jedi Master Mace Windu, in
Boba Fett: Pursuit. Fett tracks Windu to Chancellor Palpatine's waiting room and
engages him in combat. Neither can overwhelm the other, and the fight ends in a
                              stalemate."

                              Okay..its a stalemate...BUT...

I think that's PRETTY DANG GOOD going up against the second (or third) most powerful
                              Jedi Knight in the galaxy.

There's lots more expanded universe stuff---but its pretty boring
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
