I'm one of the few here who loved Prometheus...and this proposed Alien flick is right after Prometheus 2, I'm so in...I just love the Alien flicks to death...even the bad ones with Predator, lol.
I liked Prometheus also. It's a fine return to Heavy Metal style filmmaking. The tie ins to the ALIEN story were less appealing than the new concepts it explored.
Chappie is going to bomb hard. blomkamp pulled the oldest game around; jam into another project before your last gets released. There's no way Fox would agree to him after this weekend.
Intelligence, artificial or otherwise, is one of the major casualties of “Chappie,” a robot-themed action movie that winds up feeling as clunky and cobbled-together as the childlike droid with which it shares its name.
Review: Why 'Chappie' Proves Neill Blomkamp Needs to Explore New Material
Visually, the guy is great, but he's beyond predictable.
I can already tell you the storyline for his Alien film. Big Bad Weyland Yutani did something big and bad...again. But he'll tie some meta-theme to the Xenomorph thinking its culturally relevant. And no one will care for it.
