    Another Torchwood thread ...

Just watched Torchwood tonight on BBC America......
It was the circus episode (just premiered tonight)
It was pretty good....... But I was big-time reminded of Something Wicked This Ways Comes......
    Anybody else think that ?

definately was inspired by that story/film IMO the end was a little expected though, and definately a good episode, I think that this season is out doing last season in a big way, I hope season 3 is as good as this one

Just watched the second from the last episode last night....
The one where they all have flash-backs...

On the season finale, is Owen and Tosh really going to die ?

If so, (in real life) why would they leave the series ?

I don't normally watch Torch-wood, my wife is a big fan .I watched the season finale and thought it was brilliant and quite moving.

As for why they left the series....I don't think it was up to them.

In a "behind the scenes" show, it mentioned that most Torch-wood members would be expected to die young as its a dangerous job.

Is there any truth in the internet rumour both Jack and Gwen are leaving the series as well ?
          Perhaps in season-3

If so, I can't see the series going on without them-- especially Jack

It would be like Doctor Who with no Doctor Who

And I haven't watched any of the other Dr. Who spin-off
The Sarah Jane Chronicles, do you have that yet in the US ?

              Try Torchwood.......
It's a mixture of sex, mature situations and aliens --- weird combo, but it works
I wouldn't watch it with the kids, though

Sarah Jane is a good show, but it's mostly for kids.
I would have loved it when I was 10-ish years old.

                Thanks Mike.

I'm kinda new to Doctor Who, my parents wouldn't let me watch it back in the 70's because it was too scary, also my brother would start screaming as soon as he heard the Music

                So here's my question.
I just watched a William Hartnell episode with my children (no screaming)
But why does Susan keep calling The Doctor Grandfather ?

I thought The Doc was from Gallifrey and was the last of his race,
Was she really his Grand Daughter ?
Are they really supposed to be related ?

She REALLY is the Doctor's grand daughter

When he got fed up being a Time Lord and stole the TARDIS to roam around the Universe, his grand daughter Susan went with him.

She REALLY is his grand daughter.
Shes NOT a Time Lord though...

                  She cannot regenerate

He's the last of his race since the 2005 series
Back then (the classic series), Time Lords were all over the place ......

Doctor Who is from Gallifrey... He has a Grand Daughter --- Susan
Being a "Time Lord" is basically a job-- that's why Susan is not a Time Lord

                    Oh, OK
                    Thanks again M.
Thank God Susan couldn't regenerate, she was so boring.
But then The Doc was a bit feeble, still we all enjoyed the seven episodes.

Not a bad job if you can get it.

Not sure if you've ever seen it, but Susan's last episode was The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

In the year 2150 she fell in love with an Earth dude and decided to stay with him.

The Doctor said his final goodbye to her

                        SPOILER....

Owen and Tosh both die in the season finale...
As reguards to the "circus" episode...It waas written by P J Hammond who not only wrote the "Fairy" episode last season but was also the creator and main writer of "Sapphire and Steel"...the story was great but I thought it was let down by the director...what could have been the creepiest, scariest show of the season came across as a run around episode...it was good...but could have been great.

I was very sorry to see Owen and Tosh go. In many series, I've always like the "co-stars" best. In Star Trek, I rooted for Scotty!

In Torchwood, I would have loved to see how the "undead" Owen coped with "life".
A lot of good storyline wasn't fully explored.
I do hope they won't further reduce Yanto to "Mrs. Jack Harkness". It diminishes his growth as a character. Captain John was right to call him "eye-candy".

And, even though I enjoy seeing romance between all races and genders, can John Barrowman please stop kissing everyone he meets?! Jeez! Give your lips a rest, man.

I guess killing off regulars is the same as Heros all the contracks say your character can be killed off at any time. Out with the old in with the new keeps things fresh. But Jack can not leave the show it was built around him. If he leaves it woun't last a season.

                              Very true...
If Jack leaves, the show is DEAD.
