I recall this show being a kid's show, but it also had a deep Sci-Fi element. On the surface, it was cartoony and silly, and being a 70's Saturday morning show, I'm sure the weekly plots were beyond thin. But in the background of the weekly tales was a rich environment: the Sleestack were decendents of an advanced race that had lost their entire civilization; the pylons were part of their lost technology and controled a number of things like weather and inter-dimentional portals; I even recall episodes about alternate realities of the main characters.

So if treated well, this would make a great world to explore in a movie. But a comedy? I guess...

And to add insult to injury-Will Ferrell??! After the Bewitched fiasco, I've no faith the man as neither a commedian or an actor. No matter how they treat the film, with him it will do far far worse than suck.

All that from that one BEWITCHED misstep?

        Seems a bit extrreme.

I'm guessing you didn't like him all that much before?

If you DID...again...that reaction seems a bit extreme.

I hate PLUTO NASH and NORBIT--I think they make EDDIE MURPHY seem like
a hack comedian/actor--- but that doesn't mean I'm turning my back on him...

My sentiments exactly... The idea/material would be work very well for an action/drama/Sci-Fi (if you'd call it that) movie. However, the idea of a comedy sucks terribly... I hope it sinks faster than a lead balloon.

See, now megomaniac has the right idea... Ferrell is just not funny to me, and I don't get the appeal of him at all. From what I've seen in the commercials for his films, he seems to be playing the same guy in everything, just in a different situation. (From NASCAR driver, to basketball player, to ice skater, he's always just a dufus from what I can tell.)
