I enjoyed the first Alien movie, and enjoyed Aliens even more, but wasn't to impressed with
3 and 4' I did enjoy Aliens vs Predator, and was very impressed with the way the Aliens looked
creepy, gross, and awesome all at the same time. I have the movie IT! Terror from Beyond Space,
which is one of my top 5 all time Science-Fi old school movies, and could have been the seed planted
    for Aliens 79

      Interesting fact.
Scott rejected most of O'Bannon's (and Shusett's) original script, saying it was terrible.
O'Bannon perseveres and stays on the project, finds Ron Cobb and HR Giger, and introduces them to Scott. Scott loves what he sees and hires them on the spot.

Scott then kicks O'Bannon off the set. Even goes so far as not to give O'Bannon any credit. On the first print of Alien, O'Bannon (and Shusett) get no mention at all. Legal action is taken.

A couple of years back, O'Bannon dies.

Amazingly, a lot of ideas from the original script then resurface....in Prometheus...

Ah... Not sure how much personal detail I care to share on this one. Hmmm...

Let's just raise a hypothetical situation. Can you imagine seeing the original "Alien" during the first week of its release -- and it is important to remember that nothing like that movie had ever before been released -- just as a powerfully mind-altering psychoactive substance hit your brain? I bet that would be crazy -- I can actually imagine what that would have been like.

I love the story of the theatre owner.
One of the production crew went to a showing of Alien and had a chat with him.
The theatre owner said "great movie, but the chestburster scene scared away audiences...so they cut it out completely...it was fine after that...."

I saw it when it 1st came out, in 1979. In glorious 70mm 6 Track audio in Rochester, NY.

ALIEN is my all time favorite sci-fi/horror movie.

Aliens is a different movie, more like a sci-fi action flick.

I love both, but ALIEN gets the nod from me.

                Agreed.

                  Proposed Alien 3 Reboot

District 9 director Neil Blomkamp revealed his take his proposed Alien 3 Reboot that he he will more than likely never film since the studio didn't even know that he was developing it. This artwork is just to show the studio what he would have liked to have done.
I must say I would have loved to see this movie over Promethus 2.

Yeah, Prometheus was pretty cool. Restoring some mystery to the xenomorphs after Cameron stripped away a lot of their mystique by essentially making them giant intergalactic insects.
Still love Aliens (always will), but the notion of the alien being a deadly genetically engineered bio-weapon created by the Space Jockeys is way cooler than just being a giant space-bug.

I liked Prometheus as a return to Heavy Metal style SciFi. It was really out there in some ways, and of course visually stunning. The elements that tied to the ALIEN franchise excited me less. I could actually have liked it more if it were more it's own thing.
