Yeah, he basically shaped our childhood television. So many iconic series.
The 70s would have been different without him...

Hard to imagine he made two of my most favorite shows which have absolutely no connection - Quincy and Buck Rogers

People have said that BSG was a ripoff of SW even though Glen started developing an early concept for BSG in the late 1960's. He didn't have the funds to get it produced at the time. Studios and networks wasted no time in turning it down originally.

BSG was a ripoff of Star Wars. But it evolved over the years into SW clone.

The creator of some of my all time favourite TV shows. Will always love Galactica and BR25C.
                      RIP.

Can you explain this further? I feel like I missed something....I have always viewed them as two distinctly different cool things.

Fox sued Universal. Universal countersued. It was never really resolved as Battlestar died quickly. Fox was lit that Kurtz and Dysktra were involved with BSG.

Remember that at the time there were no space operas other than Star Wars. Now you had a show named "Battlestar", with a rebellion group running away from a large empirical army, a swashbuckling lead, his wholesome buddy, a wise old sage leading the group, a fiesty female lead, aliens, robots, cyborg villains, laser space ships, etc...

Fox was right in that Larson had glommed off of Star Wars, but in the same way that Star Wars took from Flash Gordon, which is what killed the legal standing.
