Giving up cable and filling the void with 70s sci fi on youtube

No cable for like 10 days and I've already watched all three parts of Martian Chronicles, Damnation Alley, The Black Hole, Genesis II and some episodes of Space Academy and Ark II.

    Thoughts on Martian Chronicles:
    • I ain't gay but Rock Hudson was one dreamy mofo
    • I really liked the look of the Martians, custom figures definitely on the to-do list
    • I am absolutely dumbfounded at how this thing was licensed for action figures. I can't see getting through this series as a kid. There's way too much weird mixed in with the actual sci-fi. I would love to know the story of how the action figures got made. Some guy at a meeting "Hey I got an idea.." (sounding like Jim Gaffigan's Hot Pockets executive)

I've been watching tons of Untouchables, Combat!, and 12 O'clock High there lately.

My family is all set to get rid of cable, but I keep stalling. I really should as we don't watch TV anymore.

I got a Roku and only pay 16 a month total for Hulu and Netflix. Tons of watching on those two. With Youtube on there and lots of free channels it replaces cable easy.

I ditched cable 5 years ago tomorrow, you can stream or torrent anything on tv for free and watch it when you want.

I watched all episodes of Ark II and I'm sad there's no more. Now I'm working my way through Star Maidens.

Exactly, even sports try "frontrow.com", the only thing I watch on tv is the news, and nature/educational programs which is in the most basic package. So, so much for having a gazillion channels then I also got rid of my landline telephone, I just use Skype these days for free.
