My kids have not stopped asking about you since they saw you on the big screen. "Is Clem doing signings? Is he going to be an action figure?"

I think the problem with understanding Capaldi is only when he speaks way to fast with his brogue. on both the two new episodes I had a few sections I had to rewind and relisten, sometimes just giving up and moving on. I actually have watch alot of BBC shows for years and never had this problem before :( Heck I even understand when the liam and noel gallagher talk and that is saying something, LOL

Really liking Capaldi in the role so far. Costume is great, too.
Looking forward to him settling in even more. Hopefully we've got some great stories to come.

Isn't it funny, both McCoy and Tennant are Scottish, but weren't allowed to use their accent for the part.
Now, finally, the BBC agreed to let him keep the accent. You'd think they were trying to throw the Scottish a bone, so they wouldn't leave the UK...

Also remarkable is that so many Scottish actors end up as the Doctor...

Clem, the only stuff I have trouble understanding is Cockney, thick Irish or Scottish brogue, and ancient Welsh. I have to say I don't recall ever having trouble understanding anyone on Doctor Who.

Clem, you have to understand that many Americans are not exposed to UK accents much in the same way many Brits are not exposed to US accents. Would you be able to understand a Creole or thick Boston accent?

Actually, Eccleston was 100% easier for me to understand than Capaldi.

My favorite Doctors (for understanding everything they say) is Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Colin Baker.

I'm digging Capaldi's less touchy-feely doctor. He does have some great lines. The line about Clara having hips like a man was hilarious, but he must be blind.

I do have some trouble understanding him, but then I have trouble understanding Tennant when he gets on a role.

Just think of it as learning a foreign language.
It takes time to get the accent.
Take it from someone who knows all about this...
