Harrison Ford Injured On SW Episode VII Set

It's been reported that he broke his ankle while filming a scene on the Millennium Falcon set when his ankle got caught in the access hatch as it was closing. Sucks that he was injured, but it's kind of funny that the Falcon turned on her captain. It was bound to happen eventually. Best wishes to Harrison for a speedy recovery.

During delays in filming Empire former carpenter Ford grew so frustrated he took a hand saw to the Millenium Falcon. Mark Hamil said he wished he had been on set that day.

Rumour now is that Ford might be out of action for as long as 6 months, which would certainly delay the filming of Episode VII.

Now, speculation is that the release date might be rescheduled to May 2016 rather than December 2015... which is actually cool, because SW movies have traditionally been released during the month of May.

With Han Solo laid up for six months, Disney might have to move the new STAR WARS movie to 2016.

                Han's a pirate, right?
All he needs is a wooden leg and an animal on his shoulder, I'd suggest Salacious Crumb. That critter has been out of work since Leia strangled his boss, so the rebels owe him one...

Maybe an ewok humping Harrison's good leg.

A spokesman for Lucasfilm has downplayed that six month rehabilitation rumor (which originated on some online gossip site) and that Disney is committed to the December 2015 release date.

We've waited this long for these sequels. I don't know how bad Ford's injury is... but I'd rather wait a little bit longer than have them make compromises to work around the injury.

It'll work out. People get worried to easily. There is no official statement saying he'll be out for 6 months. They'll just have to rearrange their shooting schedule. Ford isn't the only actor that was hurt during a shoot that had to have time off. The crew just finds a way to work around it. It'll all pan out. Until something official stating he'll be out for a long time, there's no need to panic.

Maybe Andy Serkis can CG replace him?

I think they'll regroup all of his scenes in one big bunch and film them at the end of shooting. It's still a huge hassle for the production team.

Read some suggestions that he might shoot from the waist up, well at least get as much in the can as possible. They can also use a body double for the back of him standing up.

I can't believe something so ... trivial could hurt him, I was watching the making of Crystal Skull and he did so much dangerous stunts (like been hanged from a wire , jump from jeep to jeep on green screens, etc) that his leg been caught on an hydraulic door sounds kind of lame! lol. I really hope he gets well soon.
