Before I clicked your thread, I just knew this would be the image inside.

      I love this record.

As a kid, my buddy next door had it, and I had the official John Williams and the. London Symphony Orchestra double LP. I remember telling him it wasn't the real soundtrack, and he was arguing up and down with me,that yes, indeed it was.

Eventually, he ws getting rid of a bunch of stuff, and he gave it to me. I still have it, and have also purchased a sealed copy, which I digitized and is now in my iTunes.

The performances are pretty awful, but there is a 1970s groove version of the SW theme that is phenomenal.

This is too cheesy cool. I like it better than Meco's disco romp. Thanks for turning me on to this one.

There were so many of those "off brand" sci-fi soundtracks on vinyl and cassette back in the 70s and 80s. I still have a few of them.

I love this kind of stuff.
I'm going to hunt down a copy, it's a great collectible!

Does it say "The Now Sound Orchestra"?

Yep. The Now Sound Orchestra also did a Star TREK album too, with themes from the Motion Picture. Another winner.

I grew up with the Geoff Love, Neil Norman and Meco versions of SciFi films.
I know some of the versions are pretty silly, but the nostalgia factor is just huge for me...

WOW! One of my childhood friends used to have this album. I haven't thought about it in years! Thanks for posting this.
