    Gattaca

Just watched this movie for the first time last night on Netflix. What a great and unique story! They couple the age old theme of a caste system and the human will to succeed with an eerie look into DNA discrimination. This movie came out before the genome was mapped also, which makes this a bit prophetic.

I can't believe I've just now seen this.....what did y'all think of it?

I saw it several years ago, and what struck me was it seemed -- in the best possible way -- less like a SF movie and more like a really good SF book brought to life. It reminded me of discovering novels like Bester's The Demolished Man when I was a kid. Gattaca is a movie I recommend to people frequently -- glad you found it and enjoyed it.

I saw it years ago and really liked it as well. I never hear people mention it.

I may watch it again tonight. After finishing it, it has the feel of one of those movies with little hidden bits in it that you only catch after multiple viewings.

            I have it on DVD.
I like these pure Science Fiction movies. Not big budget, just a strong story without any frills, solid performances, and interesting ideas to make you think.

If you like this, try Code 46 with Tim Robbins!

It was interesting, but saw it so long ago I don't remember much.
