U.N.I.T. are back in episode 4 and 5 "The Sontaran Stratagem" with Martha also involved....The sontarans return "en masse"
Steven Moffat (Blink, Girl in the fireplace and the empty child/the Doctor dances) writes a 2 parter this season already being called scarier than Blink.
Pat Troughton's son David and Peter Davidson's daughter (Georgia Moffett) have roles in the season.

They are fiming the 2009 series of dr Who as we speak in cardiff and bristol, so it looks like we will have David tennant till 2010 at least wich IMO is cool.

Who trivia:
I was lucky enough to have a look at the scripts from season one the otherday and it turns out the regeneration scene in the last Ep of series 1 was tacked on in the script the doctor absorbes the energy from the eye of harmony, and apart from making him light headed had no effect on him.

I saw them filming this week in cardiff, and from what I've heard the Christmas special for this year is shot, and the 2009 season is being filmed and the 2009 christmas special will be shot straight after it.

They had to do it this way as david tennant wanted to do other projects and it was the only waythey could keep him as the doctor and not miss a year out, from what I've been told.

They are still shooting the final 2 episodes of season 4 at the mo...Tennant is then off to do Hamlet at the Globe theater . There will be no season 5 until 2010...instead there will be 3 specials. The specials have not been started yet so I assume the filming you have seen is for the final episodes.

boba from what I was told by a reliable source it is the 2009 eps are being filmed, I know someone in the set dept, and I have friends who know people in various other depts and this is what they are saying and how I got hold of script pages and story boards

The BBC themselves were the ones that made the statement about no Who other than specials until 2010...I hope your sources are right so we can have season 5 in 2009 Boris...
