The Enterprise has the Golden Ratio

I don't fully understand how it works but they think Matt Jefferies applied this math ratio when designing the original Enterprise:

Very cool. I'm a bit of a math nerd and have always enjoyed seeing where the golden ratio shows up. One of the first things I ever cut with a laser cutter was "Penrose Tiles" that have everything to do with the golden ratio: http://www.goldennumber.net/penrose-tiling/
