    Kanan

    Kanan figure

    Ezra

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I like the look of things, but question the need for Force users again. It would've been bold to go "Force-less" for this series. And doesn't Ezra just remind you of Tween Anakin?

Still, I will watch and hopefully fall in love again.

From what I've read and seen, Ezra falls into the Luke role. Rebels is distancing itself from the prequels and is going full on with classic trilogy homages and archetypes starting with the original SW production sketches and designs. Kanan goes back to the early draft Starkiller character and is Han Solo mixed with Obi Wan, Zeb is obviously based on the original design of Chewbacca and Chopper is based on the early armed R2 design. I would also be surprised if either Hera or Sabine didn't fall into a Leia type role.

That reminds me, I am really irked nether Hera or Sabine had an action figure at Toy Fair.

            Sabine video reveal

I cringe when I hear buzzwords like "sassy," "spunky" and "feisty." They are trying way, way, WAY too hard to make her "hip," "edgy" and "trendy." They turned a female Mandalorian into Poochie. I worry she's going to end up being more universally reviled then Jar Jar. I still have high hopes for Hera.

I wouldn't base your fears of a Mandalorian being a "Jar-Jar" level mishap on some young airhead actresses' summation of her character. If all goes well, this Sabine character will be a more hands-on version of Leia (something Lucas desperately wanted to achieve with Padme ---and that, frankly, Disney will want to achieve with at least one major female lead in the upcoming live-action sequel trilogy, I guarantee).

I will try to remain optimistic. I just have a very deep aversion to buzzwords. On a positive note, Hasbro announced they will indeed be making figures of Hera and Sabine and they will be revealed at SDCC.

I want to like this, but for some reason it just doesn't feel like Star Wars to me. I hope the actual shows leave be feeling different.

i agree, something just isnt hitting home with this. the clone wars was pretty decent, i enjoyed what i saw of them but i havent seen anything from "Rebels" that hits the star wars vibe with me.

Hera reveal. Now we are talking. I really like her. Gives me hope for the show again. No buzzwords or trying to be hip.

For me, it's a big "We'll see..." I'm not in love yet, but it could be fun.

Yeah, The Force is over used, but maybe they are saving a non Jedi/Sith for the previously unmade, but written, live-action series.

I'll give'em points for the use of the Imperial Transport and a different Tie Advanced Fighter.

I think the characters have potential.

At least it's a new show to watch. Should be good.
