    The Story of Star Wars

Dialogue and music from the original motion picture soundtrack.

Back before VCRs this was THE way to relive Star Wars at home. I have so many fond memories of listening to this on my little old plastic cassette player. I listened to it over and over. I still have my original tape and book set with its $7.47 Montgomery Ward sticker.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I had an 8 track tape similar to this but of the original Battlestar Galactica movie ( TV pilot).

Actual dialog and music from the movie with additional narration to turn it into a "radio play".

That 8 track tape was my very first hock shop/thrift store find back in the day.

We still quote some of the narration from Roscoe Lee Browne.

"The Millennium Falcon has reached lightspeed... and safety."

If you know where to look, someone out there took all the film footage and synched it up with the cut on the record. It's like watching a 45 minute version of the film, with Browne's narration.

They did have some big names narrating these. Malachi Throne narrated Empire.

It's also kinda oddly prophetic these were released by Disney's Buena Vista label.
