Loving all of this Rocket Robinhood news today! A personal favorite of mine. I checked my two box set editions and this pilot episode is included on the Volume One set. I checked my boxset to make sure I didn't have a variant copy from France (as indicated on the Youtube description) and I didn't. Everything says this volume one boxset was made and distributed in Canada. It's a fun pilot to be sure. -
I came across it as I was doing my research for the costume. Always amazed at how many "variant" outfits are out there. And of course the inconsistencies to the outfit that would pop up even within the span of a short episode, with all the reused footage etc.
That rocket emblem just jumps on and off his shirt at will.Comment

^^^ Will Scarlett that is! BAM! 8)
Depending on how popular this run of figures are, I might go back and try doing a variant based on one of the earlier outfits.Comment

^^^ Great idea! This is one of those shows where I wish it had a bigger fan base. How fun it would be to see the entire team with a playset. Of course we already live in an era of miracles in the Mego world. So with the creation of this incredible figure, I think it's safe to say, "Never say never" is a wise philosophy to live by (if not dream by).Comment

How could I never have head of this show until on the forum?! I'm a RH fanatic and love that "Filmation" style.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Amen brother. My favorite episode is the "Time Machine", where he goes back in time to meet his ancestor Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest. Seeing the "ancient" Rocket with long hair is a blast.Comment

I'm glad to hear at least one person outside of the Greater Toronto Area knows the show!
I'm fairly convinced that we're in a bubble here because it ran non-stop for quite a few decades thanks to Canadian Content rules (same with Hilarious House of Frightenstein). We'll see what kind of buzz we get from the toy show exclusive custom... you just never know where these things lead you.Comment

You can get both volumes on Amazon or Ebay. Amazon seems to have the best deals. But in general they run between $20.00 to $25.00 per boxset. If you're a fan of the show, I highly recommend them. The episodes were not individually cleaned up and color corrected like the '67 Spider-man series was, but the picture is surprisingly crisp and colorful in it's digital form. You won't find it lacking in production values. I watch both sets on my 55 inch HD flat screen and they register very clear. They're both nice sets. And I've got my two year old grand son watching them now. He likes singing along.Comment

these showed up at Mego North this weekend! I think Palitoy would have more pics.

It would be amazing if they sold animation cells at auction in the same manner as other vintage cartoons. Great stuff! BTW I always thought that image of RRH shooting the arrow would make a great graphic on the flip side of a backer card. I can see the image in my head. Instead of the episode title that would normally be seen below the arc of the arrow, you would see the characters available in the series. Just struck me as an interesting way to use original artwork to sell a figure line.Last edited by MIB41; Jan 26, '14, 7:29 AM.Comment
