Great story, and shame on BBC for making this 80 year old international treasure languish for 4 hours! I don't blame him for momentarily regretting coming on board this.
I don't really have much nostalgia for Baker, other than knowing he was Doctor Who when I was young, but dagnabbit his scenes with Smith gave me goose bumps. So well-written and acted. Just great.

Tom will always be Doctor Who to me. I got to meet him at a Who convention in St. Louis a number of years ago. Had to talk my parents into driving me and one of my friends over to it.Comment

I started watching Who when Elisabeth Sladen joined Tom.
What a perfect team they were!
I love all the Doctors, but Tom is like the iconic image that everyone recognises..

When I was a kid I watched Dr. Who on alabama public television every Saturday night. I also really liked Are You Being Served. My mom actually sent away and got me a membership in the Dr. Who fan club, I remember getting newsletters and stuff in the mail, I thought it was so cool. Tom Baker is Dr. Who, at least he always will be to me.Comment

Best doctor ever!!!
Seeing him in day of was simply fantastic.
Quite possibly my personal favorite episode.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment
