It feels weird posting this in what is now essentially "The Doctor Who Forum"
but anyone else catch this yet?
They upped the budget, which really helps amp up the action in this piece of fluff. The A-List actors definitely elevate this above what would otherwise be something of a throwback to B-movie from the seventies. Donal Sutherland, Philip Seymore Hoffman, Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson are all terrific. (surprsing amount of Oscar winners in that list). Elizabeth Banks though really makes hay out of her character, who was essentially the comedy relief last time. The necessary soap opera for the primarily teenage girl audience is bearable (much more so than Pacific Rim).
