    Doctor Who Protest

Ex-Doctor Who stars protest due to lack of Classic Doctors in the 50th
Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker and apparently John Barrowman were all spotted outside Television Centre in London this morning, waving placards and expressing their discontent at not being in the 50th Anniversary Special. Well timed publicity stunt, or did everything just get a little... weird?

It may seem a little silly, but I can understand why they did it.
The BBC never showed Classic Who much respect in the past, and now that they could finally allow the classic actors to be part of something which has a budget of over $50, they shut them out.

I could be wrong, of course, maybe it is a stunt and they do feature in the special, but I doubt it. I was amazed to even see their "glimpses" in the last episodes of this season.
I would also have loved seeing a whole bunch of classic companions this season, they've earned it.

To be fair, it does look like some kind of prank or comedy sketch for something.

You would think Paul McGann would have been involved.

It's becuase McCoy is short (5 Feet 6 In) - hence his casting as a hobbit LOL. But So were Troughton, and Hartnall. Davison is about 6 feet 1" and Colin Baker is 6 feet even,

It is really noticible in classic who Remeberance of the Daleks when he is next to a Dalek Prop or even Ace (Sophie Aldred)

Seems too late to be real

Wouldn't the special have been filmed at least 6 months ago ? maybe even a year

the linked article seems to think it will be a comedy short for the upcoming US Galifrey one Dr who con, or it could also be a bit for Children in need in November

Also, both Davison & McCoy have been pretty involved in the Doctor's revisited shows, and Davison even showed up as a guest at the Capaldi reveal special.

You know there is a whole aging issue to consider too. I mean, consider when the Doctor regenerates, his old face ceases to be. It's a moment stuck in time, not getting older.

Now with the whole time travel premise, sure the current Doc can meet himself from a few regenerations ago, but it's hard to suspend disbelief when the actor now looks NOTHING like he would have at that time.

And yet they managed to pull it off with David Tennet and Peter Davison. Go figure.

I would have been happy with another 'Three Doctors" with Eccleston in the mix as well. Their all from the new era of Doctors and obviously still have their looks. I can see why they wouldn't want someone like Colin Baker back, as he has grown in stature if you know what i mean.
