How do Fembots actually work ?

    SMDM Fembots that is

In some scenes it looks like they need to be controlled at all times by an operator and other times it looks like they make their own decisions.

It can't be both --- proof was in Kill Oscar when Steve knocked out their antenna and they were reduced to walking around mindlessly like a toy soldier

Heck, if I knew how Fembots worked, I'd make some that looked like my favorite starlets.

Why not? It's possible that thyey have limited memory (it WAS the 70's....) so remote, direct control is preferred; but they could be programmed with a limited amount of autonomy for special missions. That programming could be difficult and time consuming, AND require very specific instructions for very specific circumstances, so most might not have any programming for independent action.

It's also possible that there are more than one models, with different capabilities.

        Shut up! That's how.

I was on some group somewhere and they were trying desperately to figure out the convoluted Planet of the Apes timeline. I don't think such things should be attempted.

HAW! "Then repeat to yourself 'it's just a show, I should really just relax.' "

Hmmmm.... I think they should.... "filling in the blanks" has always been one of the fun parts of pop sci-fi.... but I don't think folks should get too wrapped around the axle about the answers.

Try reconciling the whole of Doctor Who fiction.

With the Wibbly-Wobbly Timey-Wimey excuse it is ALL canon, from the most mind expanding official novels, right down to the most convoluted crack-fic crossover.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

Time travel is easy; especially if you've got a setting where a BUNCH of folks can do it. Someone changed something, and now it's all different. Nobody realizes this 'cos to them it isn't.

              Ta-dah!

^^^ The simplest explanations are often the best. I think that sums it up very well.

even if you just try to come up with a Chronology for the televised episodes it's a nightmare. Try to explain Dalek History and reconsile pre 4th Dr with post with modern show, or even worse Cyber history. In Earthshock Cyber leader makes reference to the 4th Dr story Revenge of the Cybermen which was set 2000 years in the future of the 2560 setting of the Earthshock story

The Dolenz model 34C operates using the standard inverted reciprocating positron nodules enhanced by synthetic botinoid compounds fused to a titanium and duranium shell which houses the intra oscillating reflexors and multi faceted optical sensor array in conjuction with the phase based reverberating vocabulator. There are also boobie guns.
