I know this is probably just me but I refused to see anything Star Wars related after Return of the Jedi...I just didn't want anything to tarnish my memories and love I suppose.

the SW market has been saturated since Phantom Menace came out. they flooded product and caused a lot of people to burn out on it. the plethora of books, comics and cartoons and now whatever Disney will spew out has made the franchise into just another run of the mill sequel mill. I do have high hopes for the new trilogy though. hopefully they get right, all the things that Lucas got wrong with the prequels

Actually don't want to see a Boba Fett movie. Over-rated character.

No way! He's AWESOME! He shows up, gets like, two lines, has the Empire do his work for him and then gets taken out like a punk by a blind dude waving a stick!

No wait, LUCAS IS A LIAR who's pants are constantly on fire. That's better.

Lucas has been quoted on record as saying (back in 1977) that Star Wars was a 9 episode saga. Then he changed it to 12, and then in a later interview he states it was always 6. Read through old Starlogs, and Famous Monsters for other fun made up crap he told folks, like: Boba Fett being an old solider from the day of the clone wars, and his modified armor was that of those soliders.

                  Read this interesting article:

And it's not even a bad thing that he's a liar... but he's such a BAD liar. He can't even keep his lies straight. He outright contradicts himself, in his own movies!

Luke to Leia: "Do you remember your real mother?"

Then she goes on and on about her! She freaking died like 2 seconds after you were born. Man, those 2 seconds of memory must be awesome.

Obi Wan Kenobi gets crap for being a liar all the time, but the truth is, he's not a liar. Lucas just can't keep his crap straight!

And even... even when you see something with your own eyes, like Han shooting first, Lucas master of all lies, lies straight to your face and says, "No Greedo always shot first and I just made it clearer in the Special Edition, because you folks are too stupid to notice when someone shoots a gun or not."

So, I'm sorry, I can't in good conscience believe ONE word out of his lying 2 faced mouth.

I'll still watch the movies though, cause there's no reason to blame the son for the mistakes of the father.

Lady Zod... I don't argue the gist of your post, Lucas is a colorful truth-bender ... BUT if you are saying that Leia wasn't thought of as Luke's sister before Star Wars was released, then I disagree. And surely, two years (give or take) after THAT movie's making, the line "There is another" was in Empire Strikes Back.... so, it becomes a truism at that point, no contest.

                    EDITED TO ADD:

#1 I don't believe a word that comes out of a writer like the one that wrote the article who peppers such rants with gems like "... but thirty years ago, when people cared about Star Wars, ..."

#2 Your example of Leia and her Mother, yes, it was something he made up more recently... but only the part of how long Padme knew her kids is the aspect in question (otherwise, Vader and Vader's gal have been Luke's & Leia's parent's for a very long time). This, I always wrote off as Lucas figuring he could get away w/the convenience of killing off Padme as she gave birth (and Vader was born) by rationalizing that Leia had huge mitacholorian-a-go-go goin' on, so even if she knew her Mom for one minute, she could sense beauty and sadness. That "bending of truth" was totally worth it for a HUGE plot problem Lucas was faced with, with getting Padme out of the picture so she had no contact with Luke... Leia.... OR Vader.

Lod Zod is correct. Luke and Leia were not brother and sister in SW. Luke's sister was originally intended to be a completely different character.

On Greedo shooting first. I have the hard cover first print of the Art of Star Wars. It has a the complete original shooting script of SW. Greedo doesn't shoot first or even shoot at all. He just gets shot and dies.

If what you're saying is true... then when was the "changeover"? 1978? By '79 they were already filming ESB aka the movie with the "There is another." line.

He IS awesome though. His suit is awesome. The mystery of his origins are awesome (if the ones that remain outside of AOTC can be looked at that way).

Essentially: Fett had an awesome impact of Star Wars fans.

There is a demand for a Boba Fett movie... moreso than, let's say, a "Lando" movie or whatever. That's the only point "I" was trying to make.

Granted I see your point of how challenging it would be to make a great movie about the guy who "has minimal lines and let's the Empire do his work for him"... but, that's another can of Wookie scalps.

That: "There is another" line, does not prove intent of the Skywalker sibling situation.

First of all, he doesn't say there is another Skywalker. That's not even implied.

Obi Wan says "That boy is our last hope."

Yoda replies "No. There is another."

                              There is another HOPE...

According to a Lucas interview in Bantha Tracks, during ESB, "the Other" is implied to be male character from Star Wars 3 who was set to return for the final trilogy.

Beyond "the Other" issue, Gary Kurtz once stated that Luke was intended to have a sister, but that it was not Leia. An early version of the ESB script has Luke talking to the force ghost of his father, Anakin (who was not decided to be Vader yet) who told him his sister, on the other side of the galaxy who had already begun her Jedi training.

So the first draft of Empire didn't even have Vader being Anakin... which makes Obi Wan, not a liar.
The mention of a possible sibling for Luke is tested out but kind of forgotten when the idea to make Vader and Anakin the same character.

I would hazard to guess the reaction of the audiences when hearing "I am your father" gave Lucas the idea to make Leia and Luke siblings when the scripts for Jedi started up.

Lucas made it up on the go.

                              And that's fine.

But he's still a lying sack.

The other was Luke's sister. But she was not Leia. Luke's sister was a the new female character that was going to be revealed in Jedi. This of course got changed and all retconned away along with the Luke, Leia, Han love triangle.

Back to the Greedo shoots first thing for a bit. Lucas, at the time SW was released, even defended Han shooting Greedo by comparing his actions to a Western setting. Also, the Mos Eisley space port in SW was always intended to look sparsely populated and run down. It was like a beat up saloon town on it's last legs. Not the crowded bustling CGI space port it was changed to in the Special Editions.
