I just got the SHOUT! Blu ray for the schloctastic Lifeforce, which might as well could have been called "Naked Space Vampires". It's a "B" movie with great production value. It did not do to well in the US when it came out. I happened to catch it at a drive in on a double feature with (I think) The Concrete Jungle.
The blu ray sports the European version as the main feature and offers the US version as an extra. The European version starts with that wonderful Lifeforce theme with credits over a moving asteroid surface (compared to the USA version just having a quick title over blue and doing credits over the first few minutes of the film). The US version snips a bit of the shuttle scenes too. All in all, the European version has a fuller bodied majestic opening then the US version. It almost outclasses the later schocky happenings. There are other changes between versions too but I am no expert on the movie. I hear the US version has some nudity and violence trimmed.
Anyway, the soundtrack on the European version is great, the US version more anemic. Picture quality pretty good.
Something I am glad I got.
The slip cover has nice art, while the inside cover has a reversible cover where you can choose the slipcover art if art that reflects the one sheet.
