    Arena

I mentioned this dvd a while back that compiled a lot of 80s and 90s sci fi movies. I found it on my door step yesterday (literally, I think the canpar guy threw it like a newspaper).

I've only seen half the movies prior and I really forgot how fun and underrated a movie Arena really is.

It's dated but it never takes itself too seriously and man, you'd swear that the lead was Christopher Reeve with a peroxide hair do. I liked it as much as when I rented it in the age of VHS....

We need more movies like Arena these days.

Heh, i read that it was supposed to get a theatre release but was shelved for 3 years. I think if it got released in 1988, it'd be a cult classic now.

And good lord, Shorty looks exactly like this action figure

Holy crap, that's Mark Alimo at 1:14. He played Gul Dukat on Seep Space Nine. That might not mean much to anyone but me, but that's my favorite scifi show ever. Now I'll have to watch this film.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

You'll be happy to know his right hand man in the movie is Armin Shimerman AKA Quark.

Dear God, it's got armin Shimmerman who played Quark from DS9. Does Avery Brooks play a role too?

....and it comes WITH "Eliminators?!?!?" AND it's less than $10!?!?!?!!? Ohmanohmanohman.... the only thing that would make this more awesome is if Mike Nelson and Joel Hodgeson came to your house with it, and watched with you.

I don't know if I've seen that one.... and I've seen durned near EVERY bad sci-fi movie. Anyhoo; I HAD to order the set. Right away.
