    This Day In SW/Horror History

Actor Peter Cushing was born on May 26, 1913. He would be 100 today. Star Wars wasn't the first film that he and Dave Prowse had worked together in. They also co-starred in Hammer House Of Horror's Frankenstein.

Grand Moff Tarkin, Doctor Who, Van Helsing, Baron Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, to name just a few roles... Peter Cushing was a genuine LEGEND.

I love Cushing. I will watch anything with him in it. I can't really tell you why, either. I think he played his roles with such sincerity you believed him without a doubt, whether he was an obsessed, ruthless baron, a righteous vampire hunter, or cold, heartless Imperial commander.

Cushing was a real class act. A true gentleman and great actor. He could make audiences love and hate him without working up a sweat.
I really miss actors like him.
