Surprised that Niven didn't sue the creators of Halo. I read somewhere that Niven made a visit to the Skywalker Ranch a few years ago. The special effects these days are capable of pulling of a Ringworld movie.. the Kzin, Puppeteers, etc. However, I'm afraid if and when the movie gets made, it'll be less hard sci-fi and more of the Hollywood escapism-type science fiction movie.

It depends if there are any Hollywood insiders, writers or directors,who hold the stories dear. You need someone who likes the books to know how to adapt them and champion them to get it off the ground like Peter Jackson did with LOTR or like the producers of Game of Thrones did with those books. This is in contrast to the people who brought I,Robot to the screen which seems to go counter to all the things Asimov wrote about.
