Star Trek: Into Darkness Possible SPOILERS

I think Khan has been played out.

He turned into Star Trek's very own Boba Fett for me .......... Meaning I hate him because everybody else loves him.

If any of that proves to be true, this film will T_A_N_K. That is an awful plot twist. Especially given the love the original enjoys. I thought the whole idea of forging this new "reality" was to go in different directions, not just rehash and rewrite old stories. In a universe as vast as Star Trek are there no other stories to be told here?

Nah; just us oldsters. All the promos, posters and probably the film itself conform to the current standards. That's the big reason I'm not too i9nterested. I know how these things are planned out, so I can guess how they play out; and I don't want to see something that I already know what's going to happen.

My advice with all movies from now on is to just watch them and read the hype and reviews and all that after. I have done this for at least 20 years now and it's a lotta fun!

He sure is. That's what reboots to movies do. We definitely are in the age of recycling with new twists. No enough imagination, apparently, in Hollywood anymore.

So now Khan is a caucasian brit? Big disapointment if true.

I was really hoping for Gary Mitchel after the events of Where No Man Has Gone Before. It looks less and less likely, but I would have been interested in that.

I had no interest in the first one, but this one really seems like they're trying too hard.

If this true and not rumor, then I agree. I ALSO had no interest in the first one, but went to see it after all the brroo-ha-ha about how great it was. My own estimation was that it was a hacky "time travel" script bolstered by pretty effects and even prettier actors. I couldn't believe how successful it was when it seemed like linking the plot points was dodgy at best, and only for a mediocre premise in order to link the old Trek with the new.

If they dropped the ball on the SECOND one (Darkness), they have NO excuse because the hard part of launching and introing new versions of old characters was taken care of in the first movie.

The trailers have turned me off too, but I'm hearing good things from initial reviews.

I've been on board for this, but if it's Kahn I'm out. 1,000 of other fans won't care, but it's not a movie I want to see.
