    I watched Doctor Who!

The years of endless threads and podcast shoutouts finally beat me down. While flipping channels last night, I landed on the encore of the new Who episode "Hide" on BBC America. I missed the first 5 minutes or so, but still, it was probably the longest exposure to Who I ever had. I recall seeing bits and pieces on our local PBS station as a kid, but it was only aired sporadically, so there was really no point in even trying to get into it.

I have to say...I liked it! I knew enough about the concept from all the fore-mentioned threads, podcasts, and magazine articles I've read over the years to have a basic understanding of what was going on.

I felt the story was quite a clever twist on the old haunted house trope. Matt Smith seems sufficiently odd to be an immortal being, although my wife was weirded out by his near lack of eyebrows.

I think I'll give it another shot next week.

    You win Brian!

I've always liked Dr Who but I've never seemed to been able to get into a schedule to watch it regularly since the Tom Baker era. So when I do come across it, it's always like becoming reacquainted with an old friend.

I've only seen the storyline The Face of Evil, but have always intended so check out more of them. It must be good to have lasted for so long.

I've been missing out due to the disruption in living arrangements and my bootleg site doesn't seem to be getting episodes as efficiently as they used to. Really looking forward to seeing these new Cybermen and Ice Warriors. When does BBC America repeat episodes? Maybe I can visit a friend's house at the right time, Lol!

they don't repeat the current season beyond the first night (but they will run marathons on the weekends leading up the to season finales or new seasons, the older "modern (post 2005) seasons run as reruns daily at 10 and 11 am. Most of the cable/fios on demand will have the last few avaialble for free still

Walmart.com has some episodes for free. Others you have to pay.

My son is officially hooked...more than me, even. I walked into the living room this afternoon and "The Snowmen" was on, with my 11 year-old son glued to the couch. My 5 year-old daughter walked in and asked "Is this The Doctor, Bubby?"

                            How did this happen!?!

So I watched/DVRed today's "The Doctors Revisited" marathon to help me catch up.
