Looks like the Klingons will play a role in the film. Apparently, there are Birds of Prey that are redesigned and look different from the ones in the movies.

Lol, yeah, it did have a wee too much jumping around. I'm sure the movie is good but the trailers so far don't really scream Trek to me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

To me the trailers seem more like they're advertizing a video game rather than a movie

I hope they don't spend too much time out of uniform in this one.

Of all the stills & clips I've seen, there are only a handful where the main characters are actually in their Starfleet uniforms.

Emeraldknight had asked me about the latest trailers yesterday and I acknowledged I hadn't seen them. The marketing for this movie has been vague at best for me. The early trailers have a series of grand special effects images, but the surface story seems so ultra generic, the film just faded from my scope of interest. For me Trek has always been about story. This seems to be pushing the effects. It reads like "Battlefield Los Angeles". So I quit following it as a result. I'll likely see the movie, but I have absolutely no clue what the marketing department is trying to push. Epic fail in my book. Especially if the movie turns to be really good.

So far, I'm not really interested. I see very little Star Trek in there...

Agree with many of the previous posts.. I'm a Trek guy and will see it, but all these trailers have left me very MEH.

I'm more looking forward to the one-nite theater showing of TNG's Best of Both Worlds next week..

I think Paramount finally realized that Star Trek: The Talking Heads was just not making enough money --- AND they were right.

They just went too far to the other side.

If I see Uhura snogging Spock one more time, I'm getting my Bat'leh!

                      It's just not right!

I agree, if anybody does Uhura it should be Kirk.

Like the classic series, Spock should only get some ____y on a rare occassion

It makes it more interesting when it does happen

Everybody's going ga-ga over the Man Of Steel trailer. I saw the MOS trailer yesterday where it's meant to be seen, in a movie theater. Got zero reaction from others in the theater.

I am going to give this movie a chance but I have to laugh when they have Kirk and Spock riding a ship through a closing portal, saying they are playing Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.

Please tell me that's not true.

How in the 2200's do they know or remember Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum?

Magic Carpet Ride in First Contact was even a stretch.

btw, Earth stop making new movies by Enterprises time?

They must ban movies and television by Kirk's time, due to J.J. Abrams and his imitators.
