Space 1999 Blu ray

I have the Space 1999 DVD set which has both seasons and the video quality seems pretty good to me. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to the Space 1999 blu-ray set? I'm a fairly big fan of the show, but if there's not a significant difference in picture quality, I probably won't bother buying it. Only season one is out right now on blu-ray, which is fine with me since that's my favorite season. If anyone has the blu-ray set, please let me know your thoughts.

Mike, I don't have the Blue-ray set but I talked to a guy when the original DVD's came out and he said they over-did the compression on the regular collection. He really didn't want to buy them when they came out. You might ask people in the know about that as it might factor in.

it's 70's TV, how much can they really clean it up? plus blu ray players usually upgrade DVD to near blu ray performance. if you already have it on DVD and there are no added features for the bluray it is not likely worth an upgrade
