I love the show to death and I find it's unfairly dismissed.

It has some real bright points but unfortunately it doesn't find it's legs quick enough, the biggest problem in the early eps is Logan isn't written particularly well.

REM steals the show in those, Moffat is a better actor but he sort of gets all the good lines.

I'm up to the episode where they split Jessica into 2

      So far I love them

I agree that Logan does seem a bit one dimensional

When I watch the show many times I think, - Michael York Logan wouldn't do/say that.

      Rem is the star, imo

Seems the show could actually survive WITHOUT Logan ... Just Rem and Jessica

        One thing I don't like,

I don't care for the fact that Logan is getting farther and farther away from the dome city but Francis is still able to order and endless supply of backup sandmen.

Should't it take forever to bring new ones in AND catch up to Logan ?

It's one of the series limitations, I've heard rumours that later shows would have focused on rebelling against the City of Domes. That seems like a logical starting point as the "new civilization every week" premise can only take you so far.

Another thing is they just don't settle down in several locations and just call it sanctuary. I mean, realistically, they could've just of stayed with that first group of people in the first episode. Or with that group of androids. I mean, the androids weren't so much a threat other than that they didn't want Logan and Jessica to leave. Logan and Jessica could've stayed awhile longer, since all the androids wanted to do was to serve them. There were several opportunities where they could've said, 'Screw sanctuary, we'll settle here."

And every episode was essentially the same, insofar that they seemed to stumble on some community where things weren't quite what it seems.

Nonetheless, I love the show, the movie, and the Marvel comic books.
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

The not stopping and settling down thing was the typical "Fugitive" formula for the shows back then. Hulk, Galactica, the Pheonix, etc. There is always the bad guy chasing them so they have to keep on moving...
              It's all good!

True. The thing with LOgan's Run though.... one of them things they did a little different.... was that the bad guy kept CATCHING them.

I'm up to the devil worshippers episode

Still enjoying them but not as much as from the start.---Not sure why,

I can see why it was cancelled -- doesn't seem they could go much further short of rescuing everyone from the city.

BTW, still not tired of looking at Jessica ---- Man she fills out that pink satin thing so nicely

I think the Halloween episode finally shows some sign of character development with Logan and Jessica starting a relationship, which is about time.

The second to last episode (Turnabout) is great but the show ends with Stargate, which is pretty lame.

Yeah; that ws another weird bit I found. It really feels like they're working toward an actual end of some sort. Probably 'cos they pare out little bits of information as it goes on, amkes it feel like there's some sort of planned story.

Funny thing; despite how much the internets love to nitpick every tiny detail of the nerdly arts, I've heard very little of this show; how it was done, why they did what they did, what they were planning....

Yes, I really fell for Heather Menzies when I watched the show on TNT in the 90's. Actually sought out the issue of Playboy she was in but thought she still looked better as Jessica in that outfit than naked.

I think you all know she was in Sound of Music and is Robert Urich's widow. She maintains a good Facebook presence.

Just got this DVD set--delving in.

It's disconcerting to see so many "older" characters, though--and Logan, Francis, Jessica et al, accepting it so blithely.

One thing I don't like is Rem's clothing

                            It reminds me of lederhosen

^I'm loving the costumes actually--so much better than that disco crap they showcased on "Buck Rogers..."

It has a consistant style, in a similar sense to ST: TOS. (No, not as good as Theiss, though.)

I'm also liking that they're willing to have exposition scenes, not just a lot of generic "adventure-action."

This has all made me go read the original Logan's Run book again.

Lots of cool stuff in the book that never made it to the movie or TV adaptation. Some of it you can understand why, but other parts would have been awesome.
