Lost in Space...The Great Vegetable Rebellion

I just picked up the season 3, vol. 2 set st Target for cheap. I'm pretty sure I have not seen that episode since the 70s. To tell the truth I completely enjoyed it and did not find Stanley Adams as a giant carrot embarrassing. I thought the episode had some good stuff to say, too.

I will admit being a child in the 70s does contribute to my liking TV stories told in this and other similar styles like SMDM or original Galactica...
    What do you all think?
    It's all good!

    Good episode for fun .

I also prefered the one with the junkman (it was somewhere around the vegetable episode)

I think the entire series was a great ride. It was a product of it's day and was greatly influenced by the camp of the Batman series once that became a hot commodity. Batman was the main reason why they went to color after season one and made the stories "lighter" in tone. The great vegetable rebellion was not the series finest moment in writing for sure, but the fact the actors could get through that with a straight face and stay in character speaks to the talent they had on that show. A great series and a fun episode.

I've been watching these via MeTV because my oldest loves it.

Good lord, whether it be koinkydink or not, they seem to swipe several Trek ep ideas, like Arena and What Are Little Girls' Made Of, without blinking.

I love Lost In Space! I'm glad Me-TV shows it on Saturday nights along w/ Batman and Star Trek.

I guess I'm alone but I remember watching LIS as a kid and I lost interest as it got sillier towards the end. I wanted my sci-fi a bit more realistic. My superheroes though, Batman was great!! JOHN

It's interesting to look up the stats on IMDB. I once heard someone comment that the writers wrote very badly for LIS and the worse they wrote the more work Irwin Allen gave them. Tho when you look at it, Irwin Allen dominated the writing for this show.

              Series Writing credits
              Irwin Allen (84 episodes, 1965-1968)
              Peter Packer (25 episodes, 1965-1968)
              Barney Slater (22 episodes, 1965-1968)
              Jackson Gillis (7 episodes, 1965-1968)
              Carey Wilber (7 episodes, 1965-1967)
              Shimon Wincelberg (7 episodes, 1965)
              Robert Hamner (6 episodes, 1967-1968)
              Bob Duncan (5 episodes, 1966-1968)
              Wanda Duncan (5 episodes, 1966-1968)
              William Welch (4 episodes, 1965-1967)
              Allan Balter (2 episodes, 1965-1966)
William Read Woodfield (2 episodes, 1965-1966)

I never watched Lost in Space as a kid. I didn't see it until I was a teenager when Sci-Fi channel came to town. I couldn't really get into it then, but that was during the time I mostly rejected 66 Batman as well. I wanted to like it, but I felt my sci-fi had to be more serious. I have always liked Guy Williams thanks to Zorro, so I thought he was good on the show, but that was about it. I need to give it another shot now.

As a kid I loved Lost In Space more than Star Trek

As an adult I feel kinda the same way

There's just something magical about it

I liked LOS then and now because i knew at the end of the story everything would be OK. Even today, as a 45 year old father of two kids, i need that comfort in my television.

Not that i do not watch modern TV, but sometimes the ambiguous heroes and the realism get me down
                    It's all good!
