I think it's one "special" per Doctor

BTW, I can't believe they played a nasty unrestored cut of the Aztecs

Also, having Tennant and Barrowman on the special made it felt like an I LOVE THE 70's episode

the pre episode special certainly seemed like the who confidential specials where they cram the previous seasons of the modern show together. I did like that William Russell and Peter Perves got some air time. And I have to agree with Bannerman the sing along in the gunfighters is really odd (even if the whole story is right on line with most B westerns of the 50's and 60's)

of all the complete hartnell stories it was odd to choose the Aztecs but I suspect it's because moffat wanted to highlight the True historical which was a staple in the first doctor era (and almost all of them are lost) and the highlight that history's major points can't be messed with (since technically every time the doctor helps someone he is changing history from a timelord perspective)

to be honest the selection of complete stories for Pat is pretty slim:
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Dominators
The Mind Robber
The Krotons
The Seeds of Death
The War Games

I think we can assume War Games is out for it's sheer lenght, I hope the Dominators isn't used as the Quarks are just too weird. My hope is for Tomb of the Cybermen or Seeds of Death
