So;
I finally got to watch the entire Snowmen episode and it put me in mind of a few things I'd like to see on the show:
-I'm kinda hoping they stop with the romantic subplots; mostly 'cos EVERYONE does that, and it gets kinda old. (I liked how everyone figured the Doctor and Donna were a couple and they weren't. THAT was a nice twist.) It also bothers me (not just for the Doctor) that they perpetually have one after the other. It cheapens the whole thing and makes the Doctor (and other characters) seem like a galactic lothario. Or hormonal space-teen at any rate. Although; if they actually DEALT with that idea I'd be okay with it. Like, maybe being one of the last members of his species has started some sort of biological imperative, or made him face his own temporality and fostered a need to settle down, get married and have a family.... like happens with us humans. I'm not inherently opposed to the romantic drama thing; I just hate the tacked on, shallow nature it assumes in almost every show it's slathered onto.
-It was fantastic to see the characters from "A Good Man Goes to War" again, and fleshed out a bit. Strax NEEDS to be a companion! Hell; he needs his own series!
-Since they're okay bringing back stuff from the old show, I'd like to see some of the more obscure, not entirely official stuff brought in. The comic had some good stuff, and I'm hoping for some Abslam Daak. We should start a petition. Daak and Strax should have their own show. ("They're cops. With grenades and a chainsword.")
