Not speaking ill will of the dead but I used to hear everything people liked about Gerry Anderson's shows was actually Sylvia Anderson's doing ---- Gerry being only the businessman behind it.

    Is that true ?

Gerry and Sylvia had an acrimonious divorce, really ugly stuff that actually personally ruined him. He couldn't find work for ages. I think when things got better for him, he just didn't want to talk about her.

I never doubt that she had tremendous input on the series especially their look, but he was much more than a money man.

Wow! If those shows ever wanted to make a comeback, they should call YOU! Those puppets are AMAZING, and a wonderful tribute to the life of Gerry Anderson.

Some of them have sent me photos of their secret stashes.

I make my own puppets. Much cheaper.

(if anyone wants to place an order... )

Gerry's work looms pretty large in my house, so it's a sad day for me.

Really sorry to read this news. I´ve always been a big fan.
In the late 80s I was lucky enough to see several puppets in the wonderful Museum of the Moving Image of London (MOMI), sadly closed years ago. I´m pretty sure they were original.
I found a home movie where they appear a few seconds (around minute six) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I5Pm9mq1oA

In addition, Sylvia Anderson auctioned a large batch of heads (many unfinished) a few years ago. Somewhere I have a picture.

I'm not sure how many people have been inspired by Gerry and the great team behind the scenes who put these classic TV shows together, but it must be countless.

R.I.P. Gerry Anderson, and thank you for so many childhood memories.
