Is it just me or does almost all Matt Smith stories AFTER his first season seems hard to follow ?

I don't know if i'm just getting dumb or has there been a deliberate change in the way they tell new stories.

Sometimes half way through a story i'm sitting there scratching my head trying to grasp what's going on.

I think it would have been better if it turned out it was her relative rather than have it be the same person. Just a little tired of the whole mysterious woman bit. First River Song now this.

        >I'd love to see the Sontaran become the new companion.

Me too! He's awesome! And maybe he'd get his pre-emptive strike on the moon.

        >Sometimes half way through a story i'm sitting there scratching my head trying to grasp what's going on.

I've noticed a lot of them make sense, but require some extra thinking afterwards to sort them out. It seems like the wirters are better at coming up with ideas than fully portraying them during the episode.

        >Richard E. Grant made a great villain (he would make an awesome Master)...

Or Black Guardian. That guy's gotta still be around somewhere.

        Don C.

          You're not getting dumber.
I feel that some stories are just not that logically written and constructed. Sometimes, it's just a lot of running and screaming, masking the fact that the story is not all that good.

Last season they did have some very good ones (Asylum springs to mind, and "old Amy"), but this one is typically a Christmas story, they're rarely all that good. Remember the one with the furry Cybermen?

It'd be funnier with the Michael Keaton Batman. "hmmm......Alfred seems a little off today."

Think a lot of the eps are written so you don't know what's going on until the second half. I need a least two viewings to feel I got everything. They talk so fast with accents that its easy to miss stuff the first time around.

I didn't recgonize Clara until she said "run you clever boy", then it clicked. On the second viewing I heard her say early on she likes to make souffles. If I'd heard that the first time it might have clicked sooner.

As for Clara, my guess is:

His daughter from the Tenant ep where she was cloned from his DNA. Maybe she regenerates in to the same body since she was made from the genetic code of one particular Doctor.
Just a guess since they never followed up on her. Last we saw she took a ship and headed out on her own adventures.
OR maybe the Docs and Rivers off spring.
                      Better late than never.....

Oh, boy I hope not! While I'd like to see the Doctor's Daughter plotline followed up on, the whole "we were upstairs kissing" scene would make Luke & Leia look normal!

Now it would be nice to find out Clara has ties to a former companion...

overall ...eh not as bad as some of the christmas specials but not great
but I have to admit I did like the throwback to web of fear - the on 19th Century the great intellegence is told by the that the underground is the stategic key to 60's london - too bad it's an episode so few have ever seen. Clara ok so she's an anomally who keeps dying but I still think that Moffat needs someone else to edit him

But he wasn't a Dalek, Mikey...He was a robot created by them.

I really didn't dig this Xmas episode, It seemed so childishly written. If the mention of the Great Intelligence was meant to be an Anniversary nod to the second Doctor's battles with the Intelligence, then it was a pretty sad tribute to those better written stories of yesteryear. I'm also beyond tired of the Doctor making out with all his companions or them making passes at him...It has become repetitive beyond the point of absurd. I just want the Doctor to find a friend or two to travel with him, not potential love-interests again and again.

Frankly, I was kind of hoping for a Victorian character (which we haven't seen since Victoria Waterfield in the 60s) to join the Doctor in his travels (God forbid we get something we haven't seen in decades, companions out of their own time and element, like Victoria, Leela, Jamie McCrimmon, etc...), but that was not the case obviously...Instead, we'll probably get another contemporary character (in Clara/Oswin/etc...), who will also probably want to to mack on the Doctor...Sigh.

                              Dana

He needs to realize his Yes Men are actually hurting him and the show

If he came up with the idea of having the Doctor reveal his real name his Yes Men would say GREAT IDEA !!!! ANOTHER HIT !!!!
