it just came out. The second season was whittling the show into shape but it still was shakey. But it is here that we first see the Borg and had some of the episodes that began to give the show traction.
One of them was "Measure Of The Man" where Data is put on trial to prove he is a being capable of choice. For the blu ray, they assembled the extended version that the writer kept on VHS. It is about 13 minutes longer. They have it in a finished version and a version which mixes in her VHS footage with scenes from the show and has no music, visual or sound effects work.
They also have a 1 hour reunion of the cast and the new documentary on the season. The newly produced documentaries are more candid than making of stuff from the past DVD's. Gates McFadden reveals she was fired for complaining about the sexist nature of some of the scripts for instance and they also talk about the writers strike and it's effect on season 2's quality and how the only thing that kept them from being cancelled is being able to go back to the existing scripts that were never used for Star Trek Phase 2.
There are also deleted scenes on some episodes, commentaries, a gag reel and more.
And like the first season, this season was rebuilt in high definition from the raw film and the effects recomposed or in the case of matte paintings recreated to look as close as possible to the original work.
On the down side, they did include Shades If Gray (LOL) (another effect of the writer's strike, though I has always thought that that episode was made because Johnathan Frakes broke his leg or something)
A real nice package.
