Not sure how I feel about Hanks attached to this. He makes a certain type of movie. Also there's this from the article..."There's no bad guys. There are no aliens. Nothing like that. It's just, can you survive?" We'll that sounds like...aweful. I think he made this one before and called it Apollo 13. This isn't the MMM movie (ha!...MMMM) I wanted but it seems like the one we're gonna get. And the answer is yes. If Tom Hanks is starring in the film, there's no doubt he will survive.

Yep, sounds like he wanted to make a sequel to Apollo 13 and decided to slap the MMM name on it. Disappointing.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

He'll be stranded on a planet. With only a helium balloon for company.
          He'll call it Wilson.

When his oxygen runs out, he'll inhale Wilson and talk in a really funny voice.

I thought the present day scenes at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan gave away the end. I have no real interest in a MMM movie with Tom Hanks. A new toy line using the same designs as the original would be most welcome though.

Yep, that's what I'm hoping for. They can use articulated figures, but in the same scale and design as the originals.
