    The new Robocop look

The studio remaking Robocop has released new images of their creation. While I respect the desire to be different (which I think is wise) this new look resembles alot of characters already out there. His mid section looks identical to Batman and his helmet looks a little too much like the new Tron designs only slightly lifted to reveal the mouth. Plus he looks more like a guy in a rubber suit than he does robotic. Of course these are production pics so it may be way too early to draw a conclusion. But it is different. I'll see it, but my initial thinking is it may not work because the original was so different for it's day and was the product of director Paul Verhoeven, who has a very distinctive style. It's hard enough to remake a cult classic. I think it's even harder to remake a movie that stylistically got it's work done by delicately mixing sci-fi with satire. Tough duty.

Yeah I'm not feeling that at all.

I really hope that there is something being done in post because he's just so bland.

The original was so attractive (and his look still holds up) that it was hard to take your eyes off him when he was on screen. This one seems to do the opposite.

I find some of the cast interesting: Keaton, Oldman, and Jackson.

Wow, you think Bruce Wayne could afford another cape after his old one fell off that batsuit...oh, wait...

Why in the world change the old look? I'm not the biggest ROBOCOP fan in the world, but the old one rocked. Probably the coolest thing about that movie. (Besides the co-ed locker-room scenes)

From what I remember from the leaked script the new Robocop has multiple forms and upgrades and is described as sort of like a Transformer. The suit in that pic, like everyone has already mentioned, just looks like a guy in a rubber suit.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
