Land of the lost TV series

I have never seen an episode of this tv show, so I thought to give it a try, I only paid $25 shipped for the whole series.
I hope it isn't like the recent movie, which I really disliked.
Any pointers as to which episodes are good ones?

Land of the Lost is one of those shows that didn't hold up well for me over time. I liked it okay as a kid, but now I can see where my programming was at to tolerate it back then. It's like 'Little house on the Prairie' meets the 'Flintstones' with a few bad stop-motions dinos thrown in for good measure. Hopefully it will translate better for you. The Sleestak were the best villains in the show. Not sure when they appeared, but it was early on. Have fun with it and I hope you enjoy the series.

Its way better than the movie they made about it. If you enjoy any of Sid & Marty's stuff, you should like it. Never figured out why the Dad left in the last season and the new guy showed up.

Spencer Milligan has spoke about why he left, merchandising. He got ticked seeing all those rack toys with his face and him not getting anything.

We had a difference of opinion, let's put it this way, on using my face for stuff and paying me—lunch boxes, compasses—where they were selling them and I thought it was only fair that everyone should get their fair shar

Sid and Marty Kroft always maintained he had "personal problems".

Is a bit like Lost in Space, as far as style is concerned?

Land of the Lost is one of my favorites, watched it as a kid and loved it. There's a few odd episodes, but season 3 tends to have the most "issues" I suppose. I introduced it to my kids too and they really enjoyed it. Keep in mind these were Saturday morning type of productions, in the early 70's, and then just sit back and enjoy it!

It's way more childish than Lost in Space

Lost in Space can be enjoyed by all for diffrent reasons

Land of the Lost is mostly for kids with a few adults watching it for nostalgia.

Personally, I would not recommend to anyone that already hasn't seen it.

You'd probably think it was a "baby show"

                  >Land of the Lost is mostly for kids

....and was meant as edutainment. Intially, at least. So there's that. But it's got some interesting ideas, weird, trippy monsters, stuff like that. It's one of them "for folks who like this sort of thing, I guess this is the sort of thing they like" shows.

Disagree, LOTL had some trippy sci fi scripts from notable trek writers and actors. It was also played straight.

LIS had killer carrots and "Crush kill destroy" guy, it's pretty damned childish.

I'm glad you all agree on this show!

I've just watched season 3 of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

I have to agree with Brian here. LIS was not intended to be childish but went downhill after the pilot footage was used up. Irwin Allen seems to be the only producer in TV who gave more and more work to script-writers who did a bad job. Some episodes still stand out like The Keeper, Wreck of the Robot & Visit to a Hostile Planet but they are rare gems in cave of mud.

Loved it as a kid, and I still love it now. I'm certain that nostalgia plays a major role in my love for this show.

Loved the original LOTL... never missed an episode.

                            But hated the 1991 version.
