Yeah, there was a feature in DWM about how they travelled to Almerķa for the location shooting... with so many Westerns filmed in the same place over the decades, it got the cast & crew in to the right frame of mind for the episode.

And The Angels Take Manhattan was filmed largely in NYC.

Man, I hope they use the Statue of Liberty ---- like Ghostbusters ll

I'm really digging on Season Seven so far even though we are only two eppys in. I, too, was a little shocked at the fact that The Doctor "let" Solomon die, but in a way, he died as a consequence of his own avarice and and genocidal actions towards the Silurians. Plus, I think the Doctor was really ****ed that he had the two robots kill the Trike, too.

BTW, I loved the Robots. They were very Pythonesque!

As an added P.S.---it would be ultra cool to see the Statue of Liberty used in "The Angels Take Manhattan," but since she is made of mostly copper and tin, I don't think that'll happen unfortunately...

Unless, the Statue was replaced with an Angel.

Don't forget, no public people have been allow in it since 9,11 2001 (I think)

This episode wasn't my cup of tea.
It was trying to hard to be funny ("let's ride a dinosaur!!! Laurel & Hardy robots!!!").
I like the concept of the Ark, and it kind of felt like an Old Who story (but with a million times more budget).
If the Doctor needed a "team" to get the job done, why would he choose Nefertiti? She not exactly a technical wizard, right? Or even a big game hunter? I'd think the Doctor wouldn't even like someone who kills for sport.

It was a decent episode, but missing some logic.
                      Asylum was still way better...

                        >If the Doctor needed a "team" to get the job done, why would he choose Nefertiti?

                        Why does he choose anybody?

                        >I'd think the Doctor wouldn't even like someone who kills for sport.

Well.... he hung around with Jamie, and Leela; and they were both big on killing. (Although he seemed to work towards reforming them.) Ace had some issues too....

                        >It was a decent episode, but missing some logic.

Yeah, but that's what I like. I enjoy weird surprises.

                        >Asylum was still way better

Yes it was; but I think it was one of them rare, special episodes.

The Mercy one was pretty good.

For me personally, it seems as long as River is nowhere to be found i'm enjoying them all.

A Town Called Mercy was pretty good.

It really does improve things when they dial down the overly comedic elements and do stories with a slightly more serious tone. I hope they bear this in mind for future Smith episodes/seasons.

In interviews, they're constantly going on about Rory and Amy's tragic ending.
I'd say they get turned to stone by the Angels, possibly in a "tragic/romantic" embrace or near-embrace.
