    Alien Nostromo questions

Ever since I seen the first Alien movie i've always wondered a few things about the Nostromo.

    It's basically a tugboat correct ?

Does all the shipboard parts of the movie take place in the Nostromo ?

If not, the Nostromo seems to be tethered to the big ship - how do the people go back and forth from the Nostromo to the big ship ?

I've a feeling that the crew never have to go onto the refinery that they're pulling.

Here's what I understand from it, the Nostromo is the tug, of sorts, pulling a cargo, and they landed on the planet in the Nostromo. The Narcissus is the small shuttle/lifeboat they use at the end.

        Ok,

But, the guy that's looking for the cat and the Alien is hiding in the ceiling --- doesn't it seem like he's in the cargo refinery ?

I can't imagine the Nostromo having huge wet areas like that.

I remember photos where you see Nostromo hooked up to the refinery.
I think the front middle part is Nostromo:
I just wanted to share my new scratchbuild with the forum. The paltform is 24 inches in width and 28 inches long. The towers will range from 13 to 15 inches in height. The towers were constructed entirely from Plastruct plastic and detailed with tank parts and other kits. I've tried to...

I have always understood that to be an area in the Nostronomo. When the face-hugger bleeds acid I think it penetrates 3 decks. So Nostronomo is huge, (far bigger than the Mellenium Falcon). Why is that area so wet? Maybe it's so hot and humid on that deck that there's a lot of condensation,(?).

            Check out this guy's website.

Click on the tab 1X and look to your right. As you scroll down Nostronomo is there & you can drag it, or any other star ship, to compare sizes.
