    New Wachowski's Film Cloud Atlas

Not too sure about the Tom Hanks and Halle Berry casting as leads but the story line has me intrigued and major SPFX eyecandy.

I look forward to it. Between the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer's (Run Lola Run ) involvement it's a must see for me. The same actors playing different characters in past/present/future eras reminded me somewhat of Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain (which I haven't actually viewed yet).

I saw this trailer yesterday and it also reminded me of "The Fountain" (which I saw and didn't like much).

The Wim Wenders movie "Until the End of the World" came to mind too for some reason. Maybe it's just the Euro sci-fi epic feel. The comic artist Moebius also comes to mind.

I have a hard time believing all these scenes can possibly be put into a context where they make sense.

But Tom Hanks narrating can make anything sound epic, as this does.

I have zero interest in this. It reeks of latter day Spielberg. I've never liked Tom Hanks. I'm wary of these 'ambitious', 'thought provoking' science fiction movies. Nothing wrong a science fiction film being thought provoking or ambitious, per se, but movies like this have a pretense of wanting to be the next 2001.
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

I don't know if this is going to be considered a spoiler - so I won't post anything here - but if you read the first few lines of the plot synopsis on Wikipedia's entry on the book this movie is adapted from it will clear things up:

I don't know if it makes me more interested in seeing the movie - but it does make what's going on in the trailer a lot more clear.
