The best thing on british TV for quite some time. What did you think of it?
I haven't seen much but I do like it.

I understand that the format is been used to remake it for an American audience because you guys on your side of the Atlantic couldn`t understand the accents from the north of England .
I normally don't have that problem maybe it's because I grew up with it, the only thing that threw me like that was "Hot Fuzz" but I think that was because the sound was bad.

If Tennant leaves, i'd like to see the next Doctor be a lot older and not very good looking-- perhaps even fat.
Then I have just the guy for you Mike!

Brrrrrr...Frightening. I would like to see an older Doctor as well (kind of like the First Doctor)...But nothing that looks like those two...Shudder!

      Sir Ian McKellen?

I'm drawing a blank on older British actors that would do a TV series like Doctor Who...Any ideas?

I'd hate to see Freema go so quickly...I like her. I dislike that she developed feelings for the Doctor so quickly, though...It's not terribly realistic. It seemed by episode two she was totally infatuated with him.

I'd like to see Richard E. Grant play the Doctor, he was ok in the spoof, and he was good in the Shalka Webcast.

Hugh Laurie would be good too, i really like him in " House ".

I could see Hugh Laurie making an interesting Doctor. What I would really like to see though is some of the old doctors... (Davison, C. Baker, McCoy and McGann and Tom Baker if you could convince him to do it...) voice new adventures, not unlike the audio adventures, in an animated series. New stories, Old Doctors.

The way I understand it, if asked --- Davison would appear in a second.

A few years ago I would have said NO WAY, but today I dunno.
I think Tom might do it.
Tom's mellowed bigtime lately and he must know he's literally Who royalty above any other alive Doctor Who actor.

                McCoy would in a second.

                Colin, I dunno...
He's had some bad Who vibes in the past--- but he did do Dimensions, so who knows.

Colin has done a lot of audio adventures, as has Davison and McCoy.

I do think it's time for Tom to don the scarf once more

Tom wanted to play the Master in the new series, now that would have been interesting!

                      That would be terrific.

If they did that (and I know they never will) they should write it as the Master actually STOLE the Tom Baker Doctor's body.

The five Doctors proved a current Doctor can survive with one of his past incarnations gone....

If they did that, it would take some power away from Tennant (making him weaker and more interesting story telling).

                      So yea,
                      That would be great ......

                      The only prob is,
Nobody in the new series is over 30 years old (jokingly said).
RTD only likes young people as his leads

So i'm sure RTD would never even consider such a proposal.

Yeah, that's sort of a mixed blessing. While I enjoy his sort of "light touch" with regards to the previous years to build a new following, it seems that we'll never get the great big geekouts like two Doctors meeting.

On the other hand, he gives lovely treats like Sarah Jane and K9, classic Cyberman helmets and other wonderful knods. If I were producer, I'd work Tom in there somewhere.....

Tom has been regretful of not having done The Five Doctors for over 20 years now.
He'd probably be really easy to get today.
                          Kind of his own redemption.

It seems the more the series moves on, the more RTD doesn't care about bringing in oldies and being associated with the Classic Series.

Actually, I think the big clincher was bringing back the Macra.
Small in most peoples books, but in the big picture--- bringing back a Troughton THROW-AWAY baddie was quite a feat for RTD.

Tom would be the ultimate, but at this point i'd be happy seeing ANY classic series regular appear.... Doctor or not.

Heck, even Nicholas Courtney would be fun

Yeah but he's also most likely pacing himself a little, you could bog down the show with classic characters but never advance the series.

The Macra were neat, unimportant to most but a nice knod to the fans. I'm honestly surprised Nick Courtney hasn't been approached, he seems to always get in there.

Did Courtney ever play with Colin ?

I'm trying to figure out how many Doctors he was associated with.

                              Troughton
                              Pertwee
                              Baker
                              Davison
                              McCoy

And was he in a Hartnell story as a different character ?

They never worked on screen together but maybe they did an audio or radio drama, I'm unsure.

As for Colin Baker doing Who projects, wasn't he doing fan films as "The Stranger" for a time? I'm pretty sure he'd be game to play the Doctor. Let's just hope he gets a new coat.
