Never considered myself a "Trekkie" let alone a diehard one...
but I adore ST:TNG ----and to see it on the big screen would be cool.

I bet they will crop the top and bottom to make it look like natural letterbox and if they do all their restoration was for nothing --- clean up colors but hack away 1/3 of the picture

Interesting. I'm guessing they likely picked two of the most popular eppys from Season 1 to show off what they're doing effects wise. Would've been interesting if they had tackled "The Best of Both Worlds" first and presented those on the big screen as I felt they had a very "big screen" feel to them anyway...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

You'd think they'd pick the better episodes from seasons 3-4...

Other than celebrating the 25th anniv, this event is to promote the restoration and release of season 1 on blu-ray, so that's why they're season one eps.

Hey, if it's playing anywhere near me, (which I doubt, Oakland has NOTHING for the geek in me!), I'll go.

I would LOVE to see this. TNG was my favorite TV Trek series.

They did something similar for TOS remastered showing "The Menagerie". It was digital projection and was in the original 4:3. TNG will be too, the restorations are in 4:3 on blu ray.

That and they haven't started on the later seasons yet. It is quite an undertaking they are doing for this restoration since it was only shot on film but never post produced on it so they have to piece it back together from the source films and re composite or replace the FX. Best Of Both Worlds is going to be a monster when they get to it.
