The live-action series was my FAVORITE POTA, next to the first two films.

The show was a great bonus for those of us who loved the movies. Unfortunately the show is easier to watch today than what it was back when it debuted. I think the first episode aired twice before they got a new one out. And between the show being preempted and also getting pushed to different time slots, it was a struggle to ever see it through. When the boxset came out years ago, I was thrilled, because I finally got to watch every episode which were not that many to begin with. A shame too. It was just starting to find it's legs in story when they cancelled it.

I love the TV series. I never watched as a kid, though my dad had it on once or twice. I discovered it, (and taped it) why the Sci-Fi Channel ran their series collection.

They did really good with make-up for a 70's TV show

    It was a fun show.

The plots were very thin looking back, but still fun.

Turn down the volume on the opening credits of the TV series and play The Beastie Boys' "Sabotage."

    Trust me.

Wow, just think. Sitting down with a full box of POTA TV DVD's, having never seen them and getting to experience them for the first time. Sounds like a little slice of heaven to me.

Reminds me of an something similar many years ago. I am a huge Magnum PI fan. I watched the series from beginning to end and never missed an episode... WELL, almost never. I did miss a few, including one or two that were pivotal to the series' twists and turns. I actually taped every show on BETA. Years after the show ended, I somehow got in touch with other Magnum fans who had tapes of the show, but were also missing a few eps. We worked out a deal to trade tapes so we could all fill in the gaps from our collection. You can not imagine the thought of getting to sit down and watch Magnum episodes that I had never seen. I honestly couldn't sleep waiting for those tapes to arrive. I took a vacation day from work and spent a day watching them. I'd be in the same boat if a "lost" POTA episode was found today. Although, with the age of instant video via the internet/youtube, I wouldn't have to wait to watch it.

    It's kind of redundant though

    1. On the run
    2. Help someone
    3. Get caught
    4. Escape
    5. Learn all apes aren't bad
    6. Back on the run
    7. Repeat
Yeah I hate redundant, that's why......
My favorite Gilligans island episode is the one where they almost get off the island and Gilligan screws it up.
My favorite 3's company is the one where the roomates have a misunderstanding
My favorite Home improvement is the one when Tim and his wife fight and Wilson sets Tim straight
My favorite Incredible Hulk is the one where David befriends someone in trouble and Hulks out twice.

i have always loved the TV show. it did get a bit repetitive though. would have been better if they allowed Burke and Verdon to use guns and actually shoot an ape now and then, since they were being hunted after all
